Te Ao Marama - Tarot & Traditional Playing Cards
Two traditions. One deck. A uniquely Māori lens.
Te Ao Mārama is a 52 card Tarot and traditional playing card deck created by Māori author and oracle creator Desiree Anderson.
Designed to move seamlessly between intuitive Tarot reading and traditional card play, each card carries two identities. Hearts become Cups, Diamonds become Coins, Spades become Swords and Clubs become Wands.
Rooted in the landscapes, symbolism and wairua of Aotearoa, Te Ao Mārama brings a distinctly Māori perspective to a familiar divination system.
From the stillness of Taranaki to the strength of Ruapehu, the beauty of Aoraki and the elemental power of Whakaari, the imagery invites you to read not only what you see, but what you feel.
One deck. Two ways to use it.
Use Te Ao Mārama as an intuitive Tarot deck for guidance, clarity and reflection.
Or shuffle the very same cards and use them as a traditional deck of playing cards.
The familiar four suits remain, while an additional layer of Tarot symbolism opens the deck to intuitive reading.
Hearts | Cups | WaterEmotion, relationships and intuition

Te Ao Mārama was created for beginners, experienced readers and anyone drawn to developing their own relationship with the cards.
You don't need to memorise someone else's intuition.
Learn the foundations. Notice the imagery. Trust what comes through.
