Porowhita / Breaking the cycle - Chord cutting

Updated: Jul 30

Cycles don't break themselves.

We do.

There comes a point where the same story keeps repeating the same pattern, the same wound, the same pull back into what we already outgrew. It’s not weakness. It’s familiarity. It’s habit. It’s energy still attached to an old version of us.

Chord cutting is not about hate or disconnection. It's not revenge, spite, or erasing the past.

It is a sacred choosing. A moment where we look at a connection, memory or dynamic and say: I release you and I reclaim myself.

The card Porowhita  speaks to that moment, the split second where your wairua knows it’s time to rise, even if your heart trembles. It is the cutting of energetic ties that keep you looping through old pain, patterns, people or timelines. It is choosing evolution over repetition. Healing over history. Future over familiar.

When you cut a cord, you put an end to it, heal and renew yourself.

If you’re reading this and something inside you whispers yes… this is for me, trust that.

You’re not breaking something, you’re unbinding yourself.

I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which I live, work and create, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I pay my respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples today. May their stories, culture, language and connection to Country continue to thrive.
