Through My Eyes
Many people assume that because I'm Māori, I must have grown up deeply immersed in spirituality.
That I was taught ancient wisdom from childhood, naturally intuitive, and somehow destined to create the Mana Māori Oracle Deck. The truth is quite different.
My upbringing was shaped more by fear than understanding. I was taught to pray, to bless this, bless that, and to follow certain practices because something BAD might happen if I didn't. While those teachings came from love and good intentions, they often lacked explanation. When we don't understand the "why" behind our beliefs, fear can quietly take its place. That's where superstition can grow, stories can take on a life of their own, and spirituality can sometimes become rooted in control rather than connection.
As I've grown, I've questioned many of those beliefs. I've explored different spiritual paths, found comfort in faith, embraced the Māori values that resonate deeply with me, and discovered a way of practising spirituality that feels grounded, empowering, and authentic.
Most importantly, I've never lost my identity as a Wāhine Māori. Instead, I've reclaimed it.
Over the years, I've spent countless hours in conversation with spiritual mentors, kaumatua, healers, and people from many different walks of life. We've debated, questioned, challenged, and explored everything from intuition and energy to religion, tikanga, healing, and what it truly means to live a spiritual life.
Those conversations changed me.
They taught me that spirituality doesn't have to be loud, intimidating, or filled with fear.
It can be gentle. It can be practical. It can help us become more compassionate, more self aware, and
more connected to ourselves, to each other, and to Papatūānuku.
This collection of stories, reflections, Māori wisdom, and lived experiences isn't about telling
you what to believe.
This is a collection of my thoughts, exoperiences and teachings gathered over the years. Here you'll find reflections on oracle cards, Maori concepts and spirituality, healing, intuition and the lessons life has offered me along the way. My hope is that something here helps you pause, reflect and reconnect with yourself.

Born in Aotearoa and now living in Australia,
I have spent much of my life walking between worlds.
